Nice idea, but interface is far to be intuitive. Next stars for an improved ergonomy, and standard catalogs or import of catalogs for common products dimensions (IPN, tubes diameters in 1/4" 1/2" 3/4"...).

Great app if it worked. Do not waste your money.
Its not even working on iPhone 5
Why not just allow text editing in the apropriate field instead of this weird and cumbersome sliders and small buttons? Furthermore SI uses N/m. (or cm) and Kg/m (or cm) instead of weird mm units. Overall not a good idea.
This app does not work. The help section can not be accessed from the web, I get the error that this page does not exist.
App does not begin to work. Load button inactive. Material calcs do not display. Directions need grammar and spell check.
Needs ability to load beam to specific wieght. Needs ability to move point load to desired distance. Needs better instructions for use.
I love the program, it has helped me in many ways and I tested it and its very close to the actual deflection... :) I do however have some kind of issue where it suddenly stopped working... Seems to be a database problem... I gave it 4 stars because it is a very awesome start and like any new thing, you always trip and fall, so I am confident you can fix it in an update making it even better and "get back up on your feet..."
Load button doesnt work which sort of defeats the entire premise of the app.
Cool idea, needs work though, I mainly use lvls in my line of work. Should be more accessable in terms of custom variables. Hope to see another version soon
I find this app extremely useful and functional. I would never use it in place of my own calculations, but it gives you quick insight beam design and material deflection. Those complaining about the load button just didnt read the instructions. There is plenty of room for improvement, like entering in specific loading conditions rather than using the adjustable sliders, and entering custom material specifications. In the end, however, there is a LOT of information packed into this app (many, many materials) and I give 5 stars because i want to see the devel. go further with this. Its great to see more real tools for the iPhone, which is too often treated like a gaming platform.
This app is useless. If i cant enter a load what the hell am i supposed to do with this. I want my $ back!
I now figured it out. Select a material, "m"..;. Then click "Add" Now the load and slider are activated.
Do not waste your money! I still have not been able to get the load button to work! They have not attempted to update the program! It seems they were more worried with getting our money than trying to fix the issues with the program. I would like to get my money back as well!!!
Simple yet extemely useful for on-the-spot designing. I design special effects for movies and use this app almost daily. Its a great starting point; if lives are at stake, I still have it signed off by a real engineer. And remember to select the "material" in order for the "Load" control to work.
The load button does not work - DO NOT Buy until the author fixes
This is great, I would like to see you build on this already nice app. Would like to see torque, torsion and more. Ideally I want a do everything app, dont we all. But please keep building on this great format, I love the flexability and the slider.
I tried using this App for wood beams. But deflection is just wrong. Lodgepole pine round beam 12 inch diameter, 144 inch span (12 foot); 1400 pounds per foot uniform, says total deflection is 0.04 inches -- four hundredths of one inch. Yikes -- off by several orders of magnitude.
If you follow the instructions and spend about 15 minutes getting familiar, it works very well.
Cannot directly input load and slider is uncontrollable. Works fine if you want to put in 50 lb/ft but are happy to settle for anywhere within half or double.
